Old ‘FOOLS’ are coming to Mike’s Bike Park to show their stuff and tell their stories

Halloween will be over, but the fools are just getting started in Dayton.

Mike’s Indoor Bike Park is excited to host the Old Fools BMX Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 3-4. Old Fools is a club of 30 and over bikers who have tricks to show and stories to tell.

“They come from all around the country,” said Mike Bisig, owner at Mike’s Indoor Bike Park. “It’s a really great club that unites us riders who are maybe a little older for a few days of having fun, maybe pushing our limits a little and of course, sharing stories. ... The club’s really welcoming to have other like-minded and aged folks.

“There’s kind of a big mentality shift that happens somewhere in your mid to late twenties and sometimes it’s just nice to be surrounded by your fellow old fools,” he added.

The weekend has a loose schedule of prizes, games, events and open riding. The event is open to the public, however the Old Fools club encourages riders 30 and up to come join the fun for a special $20 rate.

Entry to the park is free and riding passes for the weekend are $20, available to riders over 30 years old by registering as "going" to the event on Facebook.
