Food trucks are back. Yellow Cab is gearing up for its first food truck rally of the season from 5 to 10 p.m. March 20 in its downtown Dayton parking lot, 700 E. Fourth St. The center will hold its rally every third Friday throughout the summer and fall.

Voodoo Taco Company, Ramen Rickshaw, ‘Eat’ Food Truck, The Shakery and Fronana will be there. HouseMade Sriracha, Gem City Tees, Ginniebug Creations, Local Love - Roaming Boutique and Tinkr Tech will also participate as merchandise vendors.

The food truck rallies will include live music, local craft beer and movies. The movie “Chef” — which just so happens to be about a food truck — will be screened at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, March 21, The Yellow Cab will hold a Night Market from 5-11 p.m., with unique food and drinks, local farmers, craft beer, food trucks and more.

In other food truck business, Town & Country Shopping Center from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 300 E. Stroop Road in Kettering, is hosting a food truck rally featuring Hunger Paynes Food Truck, East Coast Eatz, Mohawk Freestyle Grill Food Truck, Horseless Buggy Eatery, McNasty’s, PA’s Pork, Flour Power Pizza, and Lilia’s Outside Cafe.

2. ‘SING-OFF’ LIVE ON STAGE

Fans of NBC’s music competition show “The Sing-Off” will have a chance to see some of the series’ top acts on a local stage as The Sing-Off Live Tour makes a stop at Troy’s Hobart Arena on Saturday, March 21, at 8 p.m.

Season 5 participants The Exchange, Season 2 runners-up Street Corner Symphony and Season 4 participants VoicePlay are the headliners of the tour, which began last month and will eventually play more than 55 cities

The opening act is none other than one of the Dayton area’s most talented group of students: Kettering’s Eleventh Hour as guest openers.

3. GET INSPIRED AT HOME AND GARDEN SHOW

Spring is ALMOST FINALLY here. With spring comes yard work! The Dayton Home and Garden Show March 20-22 is a massive event, at the Dayton Convention Center, 22 E. Fifth St., Dayton, with plenty of landscape and gardening experts on hand.

The expo runs from noon to 7 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and also features home-improvement companies, audio-visual specialists, contractors and more.

4. FUNDRAISER AT BD’S FOR CITYFOLK CELEBRATION

Last year, former Cityfolk volunteer Sunni Russo organized a free concert downtown to pay tribute to the now defunct organization’s annual music festival.

The experience was so much fun she’s doing it again. In advance of this year’s Cityfolk Celebration concert at Courthouse Square on June 27, Russo is hosting a fundraiser to help pay the performers at BD’s Mongolian Grill, 4488 Glengarry Drive, The Greene, Beavercreek, at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

5. “PETER PAN” BY THE DAYTON BALLET

You never have to grow up. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra joins the Dayton Ballet for a series of shows presented at the Schuster Center, Second and Main streets, Dayton, today through Sunday. Show times are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday with 3 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday.

Wright State coincidentally is also kicking off its run of “Peter Pan” from March 19 to April 12 at the Festival Playhouse of the Creative Arts Center. Show times are: March 19, April 2, 8 and 9 at 7 p.m.; March 20, 21, April 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 8 p.m.; March 22, April 4, 5, 11 and 12 at 2 p.m.
