Encore Recording Studios, a Dayton institution for over 30 years, has moved their studio from Kettering to downtown Dayton.

With new owner Jeremy Mix and partners Ronald Frost and Chris Suttle at his side, the studio debuts in downtown Dayton this Thursday, Feb. 22.

The studio and its newly-launched record label, Invention City Records, will be housed in the same facility as their sister company, Encore Instrument Repair.

“The model we’re pursuing -- similar to a co-op -- hasn’t been done in Dayton before,” Mix said in a press release. “We’re bringing all the best production talent under one roof. It’s really invigorating for everyone involved. Our clients feel encouraged by the change and feel they’re getting the best of what’s available under one roof,” he said.

A press release from Encore describes the mission behind this new venture as “an expression of their belief in their city’s talent, the positive impact music has on influencing culture, and a desire to help local musicians achieve their goals and ambitions.”

At their grand opening celebration, the owners welcome the public to explore the 4,400-square-foot studio and meet their growing team of engineers and producers. Repair techs from Encore and some locally-signed artists from Invention City Records will also be at the grand opening event.

For more fun, the event will have DJ Fatty Lumpkin, dancing and cash bar with cocktails prepared from the McKibben brothers of Grand Mammoth.
“Dayton has great recording studios in their history, and with ample credit to the past, we’re embracing the future,” Mix said.
