Behind the scenes at Dayton’s Warped Wing Brewing Company

Though Warped Wing isn’t the new brewery on the block anymore, at just over a year and a half old, it’s still one of the young upstarts making its mark on the Dayton brewery scene.

The small team at Warped Wing Brewing Company works hard and fast to bring us quality craft beers straight from their tanks to the tasting taps in their 14,000-square-foot space at 26 Wyandot St., as well as in retail stores and bars from Piqua to Cincinnati — and soon Columbus as well — as only the second Dayton brewery to can its brews.

Warped Wing president and co-founder Joe Waizmann took us on a tour of the brewery ahead of a party they’re hosting July 2. The “Radler” Release Party will unveil the Radler bike, a three-wheeled, foot-powered bike created by Huffy Bikes that will distribute kegs and cans around the Oregon District and downtown Dayton. Also revealed at the same time will be the limited edition Radler summer lager, and a custom-made bike rack.

In anticipation of all of this excitement, Waizmann shared some of their background and tricks of the trade. Check out our gallery to learn how Warped Wing created its delicious brands.
