Cassano's Pizza to open new North Main St. restaurant Dayton Ohio

Cassano's Pizza King is now hiring as it gears up to open its newly constructed restaurant at 4029 N. Main St. in Harrison Twp.

Plans call for closing an existing Cassano’s five blocks north of the new restaurant at 4593 N. Main St. when the new restaurant opens in mid-February, according to Lora Cassano, marketing manager for the Kettering-based pizza chain. A “now-hiring” notice at the new restaurant directs potential applicants to apply at the existing Cassano’s.

“The existing location is one of our oldest original locations,” Cassano said. “We feel the community has been good to us, and we want to reinvest in that community.”

Cassano’s purchased the former Old Hickory Bar-B-Cue — later World Bar-B-Cue — and demolished the building in order to construct a new restaurant at the site. The new 2,000-square-foot restaurant will seat 38 in its dining room, Cassano said.

Founded in 1953, Cassano’s is Dayton’s oldest pizza chain. It operates 33 pizza shops and restaurants across the region.

In recent years, Cassano’s has faced increasing competition from new pizza chains and other regional chains entering the Dayton-area market for the first time, such as Rapid Fired Pizza, PizzaFire, Jet’s Pizza, and Dewey’s Pizza, among others.
