A 5-year-old boy with autism who was found in a retention pond and taken to a local hospital has died, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
The release said the investigation is still going on, but the boy’s death appears to be a tragic accident.
Warren County Sheriff’s deputies and Deerfield Township fire crews were called shortly after 7 p.m. yesterday to the 7800 block of Birchwood Court in the township after the boy went missing, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.
