Deputies responded to a burglary in progress around 4 p.m., the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office said. The deputy and K-9 officer arrived first, secured the location and waited for backup before attempting to enter the house.
While they were waiting, a nearby cow distracted the K-9, who then bit the bovine. The deputy tried to protect the cow from further injury and deployed a stun gun on the dog. The dog was then put on a leash and into the patrol vehicle.
