The 27-year-old driver of the car was taken to a hospital, where he died, police said. His name hasn’t been released.
The crash and the fire caused significant damage to the first floor of Miller’s home.
"They busted all my windows, everything melted. The TV melted. I lost about 20 good guitars," Miller told WISN-TV.
Miller doesn’t have home insurance and is now living with his sisters. Marcia Keuler, one of his sisters, blames Milwaukee police for her brother’s troubles.
"I mean, I know they're doing their job, but David's house wouldn't have been demolished if they hadn't been chasing the driver," Keuler said.
When asked about who’s responsible for the damages to Miller’s home, Milwaukee police called the crash a tragedy and referred WISN-TV to the city attorney’s office, the news station reported.
One of Miller's sisters started a GoFundMe campaign to help him with expenses.
