Joann Cronin stopped her car, jumped out and grabbed the 2-year-old, Item Live reported.
“I was just in the right place at the right time,” Cronin told Item Live. “I’m so thankful.”
Cronin took the girl to a nearby gas station and called 911.
Police said rescue personnel examined the girl and determined she was OK, Item Live reported. Police called her mother to pick her up.
Investigators determined the girl had been dropped off at day care and then had somehow managed to open a door and wander off around 8 a.m.
