What happens now to TGI Fridays Beavercreek after 2 others shut down?

The abrupt closing last week of two of TGI Fridays locations in Huber Heights and at the Dayton Mall has prompted concern over the fate of the sole remaining Dayton-area location near the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek.

But the Cincinnati-based franchise owner of Dayton-area TGI Fridays locations has some good news for the Beavercreek restaurant's customers.

“Beavercreek is staying open,” Daryl Beckles, human resource director for the Cincinnati-based Bistro Group, told this news outlet via email. Some employees of the Huber Heights and Miami Twp. restaurants joined the staff of the Beavercreek restaurant, Beckles said. Some employees received severance payments.

Beckles also re-assured customers of the West Chester Twp. TGI Fridays, on Cox Lane off Tylersville Road, that the location was safe. “Tylersville is not closing either,” Beckles said.

Bistro Group shut down the TGI Fridays at 7777 Old Troy Pike (Ohio 202) in Huber Heights on Labor Day last week, and two days later, closed the restaurant at 2022 Miamisburg-Centerville Road at the Dayton Mall. Both were shut down because no new lease agreement could be reached, Beckles said.

The closing of the Huber Heights restaurant affected 48 employees, and the Dayton Mall location’s closure impacted more than 50 employees, the HR director said.

“These decisions are never easy on our team members, and we do try to make the transition as seamless as possible for both our team members and managers,” Beckles said.
