Downtown club to reopen with drag queen car hops, cocktails and food

There are car hops and then there are car hops in drag.

MJ’s on Jefferson, 20 N. Jefferson St. in downtown Dayton, plans to reopen for the first time since closing due to the coronavirus pandemic, serving cocktails, wine, beer and food curbside.

 

“The queens will run food to the parking lot for pick up,” co-owner Jerid Martel said.

Favorites from the bar’s kitchen will be sold from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays beginning April 16.

“We have added value meals as well, with wings and tots, corn dogs and tots, veggie nuggets and tots, chicken tender tot meals. Gotta keep it legal. We will be expanding selections after the first week,” he said. “(We) will be doing six and twelve packs and wine at state minimum pricing.”

Customers will be able to pay via Venmo, Cash App or PayPal.
