There are few things as anticipated in Dayton as much as sipping a cold one on a patio.
Colter Dustin, the general manager of Little York Tavern, knows that all too well.
The pizza restaurant, bar and music venue’s patio nabbed first place in Dayton.com’s 2017 Best of Dayton poll.
1.) Located at 4120 Little York Road in Vandalia, Little York Tavern’s patio won’t officially open until the temperature consistently hits 60 degrees in a few more weeks.
Still, Dustin said people are welcome to sit on the 232-seat patio.
In warmer months it has a bartender and a band playing.
“It is good times,” Dustin said of the patio. “It is great people, ice cold beer, good, hot pizza, a good band. It is very important. I love our patio.”
2.) The Trolley Stop, located at 530 E. Fifth St. in Dayton’s Oregon District, won second place in 2017’s Best of Dayton poll. That tavern’s 60-seat patio is a hot spot when temperatures are warm out.
The Trolley Stop’s walled-in patio nearly always open.

3.) Bargos Grill and Tap at 588 Miamisburg Centerville Road in Centerville grabbed third place for its 60-seat patio.
Bargos’ patio is also not officially open, but that has not stopped people from wanting to sit on it.
Manager Kristen Lemon-Ellis considers patios very special places.
“It makes you feel like you are on vacation, she said. “It is just fun.”
