Now that the folks who run downtown Dayton’s Basil’s on Market have done the heavy lift of getting their restaurants back open after the two-month forced shutdown, it’s time for the restaurant’s diners to do some heavy lifting of their own.
We’re talking about lifting copious amounts of succulent snow crab from their plates to their mouths, in frequent repetitions.
The Basil’s on Market along the Great Miami River at 312 N. Patterson Blvd. has dusted off its All-You-Can-Eat Snow Crab Special on Fridays during dinner hours to help celebrate the return of dine-in restaurant service. Both the Dayton and Troy locations of Basil’s on Market reopened earlier this week.
Customers of the Basil’s on Market in Troy can expect the popular crab promotion to show up on the menu there before the end of July, Basil’s co-owner Todd Uhlir told this news outlet.
The all-you-can-eat crab dinner includes Truffle Fries or Smoked Gouda Mac n Cheese. The cost is $42 per person, and reservations are needed, Uhlir said. Those reservations can be made on the Basil’s on Market web site or by calling the Dayton restaurant at 937-818-4390.

Basil on Market’s founders are working on a new location at the Mall at Fairfield Commons that is expected to open shortly after the Fourth of July.
