The Facebook post reads:

Attention Donut Lovers!

We want to thank each and every one of you for supporting our business, we LOVED being able to share our time and donuts with you and would happily do it all over again!

As the Holidays rolled around, we realized how much time we were spending away from our families and so with a heavy heart we have closed our doors permanently.

Thank you again for everything, it has been a pleasure serving you all.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

The District Six Team

The business was founded by retired Dayton police officer Bill Parsons and his sister,  Kellie Tomlinson.

Customers could choose their own toppings and drizzles.

Reached by Facebook, a District 6 representative said he or she would be available for comment tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 21.
