4 places to grab a delicious deep-dish pizza in Dayton

With the opening of the highly anticipated Chicago-based Giordano’s in Beavercreek, deep-dish is top of mind.

It’s in the name, but deep-dish is an art of pizza thickness that is not mastered by all. From experience, however, Dayton seems to do deep-dish pizza right nearly every time. Starting with the newest member of this cheesy club, Giordano’s, here are 4 places to dive into deep-dish pizza in Dayton.

🍕Giordano’s

The Chicago-based deep-dish pizza specialist Giordano’s opens its first Dayton-area location today near the Mall at Fairfield Commons and Wright State University’s Nutter Center.

The chain’s Stuffed Deep Dish Pizza contains a second layer of dough, below the sauce, that Giordano’s officials say seals in the flavors of the pizza, making it a soufflé-like pizza pie.

Giordano’s has been serving its large-scale pies since 1974, when founders and immigrant brothers Efren and Joseph Boglio introduced their mother’s Deep Dish pizza recipe to Chicago. Today, Giordano’s has more than 65 restaurants nationwide. This is the first Dayton location.
