We had to kick off this list with the 2018 Best of Dayton winner in the “Best Wings” category. Wings are the king of the Rooster’s menu. Get them boneless or bone-in. Rooster’s sauces vary a lot in heat. Feeling sweet and mild? Start with a round of Teriyaki with sesame seeds. Feeling fiery like a daredevil? Kick it up to the Donkey sauce or even Nu-Killer.

You can enjoy 20 of either boneless or bone-in wings for $20.99.

The third-place finisher in the 2018 Best of Dayton contest is the Dayton-based, but is known throughout the Midwest.

Fricker’s got its start in Dayton and has grown to more than two dozen locations across Ohio, Indiana and Michigan with plenty of TVs, beer and its famous Frickin’ Chicken Wings or bite-sized Frickin’ Chicken Chunks that come coated in one of 15 signature sauces. Only the truly brave go for the Fricken X-Scream.

The first Fricker’s opened in 1985 in West Carrollton. This sports bar chain is family friendly, too, with a kids menu, kids deals and affordable prices and video/arcade games.

There’s a reason people will travel to Xenia for these wings. Having won awards at the Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest at Fraze Pavilion every year since its inception, it’s clear Nick’s wing game is no fluke. The most popular sauce — another award winner — is the Sweet Hot Damn.

Hinders is a "no frills" sort of spot up in Tipp City, but we will gladly forego the fine dining to indulge in their wings. Pick between the easy sitters (mild), butt warmers (medium) or our personal fave, the ass kickers (hot). The names don't lie.

Yes, Elsa's has the Mexican food and the Bad Juan down. But did you know they also have some tasty wings? Elsa’s features more than 10 house-made sauces. The everyday eater would go gaga over the sweet Thai sauce wings, but if you're a brave soul (and over 21), challenge yourself with Mike's "I'm On Fire Ready To Die" wings.

Upon asking for wing recommendations, three people immediately shared this option. Rather than deep-frying their wings, Company 7 slow smokes their chicken wings for a tender texture and smoky flavor. Get 5 for $5.99, 10 for $10.99, 15 for $14.99 or 20 for $18.99.
