WORTH THE DRIVE: New attraction in Columbus to transport you to another world

As technology rapidly evolves, so do the entertainment possibilities.

Otherworld, set to open April 12, is a new attraction in Columbus that promises to take visitors into interactive alternate dimensions beyond their wildest dreams. The 32,000-square-foot space is a “mixed-reality playground” that’s been under construction since June 2018, with designs planned back in 2017.

“Upon arrival at the desolate research facility, you’re left on your own,” according to an Otherworld promotional video. “Exploring restricted laboratories leads you to discover a gateway to bio-luminescent dreamscapes featuring alien flora, primordial creatures and expanses of abstract light and geometry.”

Presale tickets are now available for $16 and are good for any date. Children under 3 do not need to purchase a ticket. Entry to special events are not included.

“Mysteries unfold as you explore over 50 scenes filled with large-scale interactive art, mixed reality playgrounds, puzzles and secret passageways,” according to Otherworld’s website. “It’s an all new kind of art and storytelling experience where visitors are encouraged to freely explore and interact with a surreal world of science fiction and fantasy.”
