Twitter slams Cardi B for telling Nicki Minaj fans trolling her to 'cut your veins'

Cardi B is facing backlash after clapping back at internet trolls in a way some social media users are labeling as insensitive.

The "I Like It" rapper, 26, went on anexpletive-laden rant on Instagram Live in defense of her sister, Hennessy, after  accusing Nicki Minaj's fan base of relentlessly targeting them online as the  beef between the reigning hip-hop queens intensifies.

As for Cardi B's response to her haters: "Throw yourself off a (expletive) balcony. ... You need to cut your (expletive) veins. You people need help."       Cardi B described more than one way for online trolls to commit suicide, despite someone off-screen appearing to tell the rapper to stop.

"I know I shouldn't be talking, but it's just, like, you know how I get when people start with Hennessy," Cardi B said.

More than 40,000 people were tuned into her NSFW live stream, and many took to social media to slam her controversial remarks as "triggering," "disgusting" and "insane."

Twitter user @LOSINGGRIP called Cardi B's behavior "disgusting," adding "someone with such a large sphere of influence" shouldn't encourage suicide and self-harm.

@Korrinator agreed, whether Cardi B intended it as a joke or not: "It takes one suicide 'joke' to push somebody over the edge. Cardi has a huge following, u don't think anybody's gonna hear that and think 'ya know what? maybe I should.' "

@OrlaDave said "Telling people to suicide is just insane, Cardi has to stop it."

So far, Cardi B hasn't addressed her comments after the controversy brewed. USA TODAY reached out to the rapper's representative's for comment.
