Dan "Tank" Tankersley’s wife:  “I couldn't have made it through this year without you”

The owner of one of Dayton’s favorite taverns is being remembered a year after his shocking death.

The community was saddened when  Dan "Tank" Tankersley, the owner of Tank's Bar and Grill at 2033 Wayne Avenue in Dayton, died of natural causes March 20, 2016.

Debra Tankersley, Tank’s wife of 18 years, remembered him and thanked customers in a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page on Monday:

I want to take this time to thank all our regulars and customers for all your tremendous support this last year. It was a year ago today we lost a great man that saw the vision of Tank's Bar and Grill,my husband, I couldn't have made it through this year without you. I plan to continue to keep Tank's open. Tank had some ideas to improve that I will do my best to carry out. Know that the atmosphere of Tank's will always be a place to come for good food and drinks and feel like it's part of home and you part of Tank's family!

The still busy restaurant has made improvements in the last year.
