How to enter Dayton competition for aspiring female singer-songwriters

The Victoria Theatre Assocation's latest community project, ONE SMALL VOICE: WOMEN WHO ROCK will offer aspiring female singer-songwriters aged 13 and up the opportunity to delve into the music industry. Through workshop sessions, private coaching and recording sessions held Tuesday, April 17 through Thursday, May 24, participants will learn to create an original, signature song and hone their technique.

Through video submissions, participants will be selected to undergo the solo music boot camp. Candidates are required to upload 60-90 second videos singing and playing original music.

This intensive is themed around Carole King's message that one small voice "speaking out in honesty can change the world," meant to polish the talents of blossoming female musical artists. This precedes the National Broadway tour of Beautiful about King's career, which opens at Benjamin & Marion Schuster Performing Arts Center, and runs May 22 through May 27. Tickets for the musical are on sale now.
