5 beers to try for International Beer Day

I’m not one who needs an excuse to celebrate beer, but it couldn’t hurt. So welcome to International Beer Day!

Started in 2007 by a group of beer enthusiasts, their goal was simply to unite the world in the celebration of all things beer. In this election year rife with Facebook spats, I think some unity over brews is one of the best ideas since beer itself.

So I headed over to Arrow Wine and spoke with their craft beer specialist Matt Wolfe, who has five beers from around the world he thinks you should try.

BEER GEEK BREAKFAST - Norway

"It is an Imperial Coffee Stout that is absolutely incredible."

SAISON DUPONT - Belgium

"This is their traditional Saison. It has a lot of fruite and spice notes."

WEIHENSTEPHAN - Germany

"Pours a nice amber color with a high malt background."

TROOPER - England

"A really nice nut brown ale; smooth, malty."

ORO DE CLABAZA - United States

"A really nice, light, sour ale."
