On Friday, Jan. 27, during his weekly radio program, “Around the Fringe,” Jim “Rev Cool” Carter will celebrate 35 years of spinning tunes on WYSO-FM (91.3). This week’s show will feature the same great mix of world music, Americana and punk plus special guests and live and prerecorded testimonials from friends and fans.

Carter was already a fixture of the Dayton music scene before launching his radio show in the early 1980s. He ran his own fanzine, booked shows and festivals, and released early works from Dayton luminaries like Robert Pollard, Troy Campbell and Nick Kizirnis on his label, I Wanna Records.
