The 1,700-square-foot space previously housed a Submarine House that shut down earlier this year when a new, larger Submarine House opened up the street. The new Arepas & Co. will seat about 30 and will employ six to start, Perdomo said.

Perdomo said the Miamisburg-Centerville Road corridor is bustling with retail activity.
“And we have customers coming to our restaurants from Cincinnati, from West Chester, and, of course, from Centerville,” Perdomo said. “They’ve been asking for a store further south, and this will make it more convenient for them.”

Arepas & Co opened its first location in the Second Street Market in downtown Dayton in 2012, and its second location in March 2014 at 1122 E. Dorothy Lane in Kettering. The third Arepas opened in the former Olive Urban Dive space at 416 E. Third St. in downtown Dayton in January 2016.

“We’ve always said we wanted to do seven to 10 locations in the region,” Perdomo said. “We’re on target.”
