Asian restaurants join growing number of restaurants offering carryout

Two restaurants are poised to join the ranks of restaurants reopening for carryout, one in Centerville, the other in Kettering.

Tokyo Sushi & Grill at 4431 Feedwire Road across the street from Costco Wholesale in Centerville will reopen today, Tuesday April 28, with a special offer of 50% off of sushi rolls. Hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., closed Mondays.

Curbside pickup will be available, the restaurant’s owners said on the Tokyo Sushi & Grill Facebook page. Customers can place their order by phone at (937) 610-1999, and then call again when they arrive to pick up their food, and restaurant employees will bring the order to the customer’s car.

In west Kettering, Kung Fu Noodle at 2801 S. Dixie Drive, which had shut its doors due to the coronavirus pandemic on March 20, is gearing up to reopen on Friday, May 1 for carrryout.

Kung Fu Noodle is located on the north end of a building that once held the Colony Club, a former nightclub and restaurant that enjoyed its heyday in the 1960s and 1970s, bringing in big-band musical acts that drew large crowds from throughout the region.

The building later housed a succession of Mexican restaurants, but was vacant for several years before its south portion reopened in July 2018 as a Happy Asian Mart food market. Kung Fu Noodle  opened in February 2019.

Kung Fu Noodle will be open for lunch and dinner Wednesday through Monday, closed Tuesdays. For more information, call (937) 938-9027.
