1.) FIND YOUR PARTY

Dayton bars and taverns are ready with the Guinness, Tullamore Dew, Jameson and green Bud Light.

There is a party for every leprechaun, lad, lassie and  leprechaun and some of them started real, real earlier and go real, real late.

To plan yours, check out our Dayton St. Patrick's day event guide here.

3.) PACE YOURSELF
St. Patrick Day is a marathon, not a sprint. People end up facedown on the curb all because they take it too far, too fast.

Covered in your own waste is far from fashionable. Neither is being carried out of a bar over your boyfriend's (or some other guy's) shoulders.

Know your limits and live to drink another day. Know what you are drinking, and remember: Prohibition isn't coming back.

4.) GET HOME SAFE
Don't be stupid.

Don't drink and drive. Have a designated driver or use a serivice if you are going to drink. Here's our guide to getting home safe, which includes info on taxi providers and Uber.
5.) RECOVER LIKE A PRO
St Patrick's Day can be hard on the liver and the soul.
