Only one local restaurant makes ‘Ohio’s 14 best patios’ list

Northern Ohio restaurants dominated a list of the "14 Ohio Restaurants With The Most Amazing Outdoor Patios You'll Love To Lounge On" released Monday by the web site OnlyInYourState.com — but one Dayton area eatery did score a shout-out.

The rooftop patio at Flyboy's Deli at 2515 Far Hills Ave. in Oakwood joined the "best-patio" list. Here's what the web site said about it: "Known for their delicious breakfast sandwiches and endless lunch options, this American restaurant, coffee shop and bar is popular among locals. Dine on their rooftop patio for an extra special experience."

It wasn’t immediately clear what criteria the web site used to generate the “best-patios” list, which was authored by OnlyInYourState.com’s Ohio staff writer April Dray.

Flyboy's Deli did very well in Dayton.com's Best of 2016 Best of Dayton, winning the online vote for "Best Deli," "Best Place for a Business Lunch," "Best Sandwich" (for its Liberty Reuben) and "Best Secret Menu Item" (for its Philly Beer Cheesesteak). And it placed second in "Friendliest Staff/Best Customer Service."

But Flyboy’s Deli didn’t place in the top three in the “Best Patio” category, in which Wings Sports Bar & Grille, TJ Chump’s and Fifth Street Brewpub captured the top three slots, respectively.
