The franchisee announced in 2014 that it had purchased the then-11 Dayton- and Springfield-area Panera locations, and said it had aggressive growth plans for the Dayton market.
And last year alone, it opened two new locations: in Englewood and Huber Heights.
We reached out to a spokeswoman for Covelli this morning to find out what impact the sale of Panera may have on its largest franchisee, but she declined comment, referring questions to Panera’s corporate headquarters.
