A new Tim Hortons is under construction just south of the busy intersection of West Dorothy Lane and South Dixie Drive/Kettering Boulevard.
Mike Davis, economic development director for the city of Moraine, said the new coffee shop will be located at 3010 Kettering Blvd., at the site of a former KFC chicken restaurant.
The store’s footprint will have seating available inside, but will be on the smaller side for Tim Hortons shops, with a likely emphasis on drive-through service, Davis said.
Chad Kuhns of the Kuhns Group, developer of the site, said demolition of the former KFC building is complete. Workers from Kuhns Construction & Design and Construction were framing in the new structure today, Nov. 22.
Kuhns referred questions about details of the new coffee shop and restaurant to Ampex Brands of Columbus and Dayton, the Tim Hortons franchisee for the Dayton area. Ampex officials could not be reached.
Restaurant Brands International Inc., the parent company of Tim Hortons, announced in January that it had entered into an agreement with Ampex Brands of Columbus and Dayton to grow the Tim Hortons brand in central Ohio, including the Dayton area.
