Dayton’s newest food truck — actually, it’s a converted short school bus — will introduce itself to the Yellow Cab community tonight, March 15, at the season kickoff to their monthly food truck rallies in downtown Dayton.
The mobile unit is called Billie Gold Bubble Tea and was launched by Nicole Cornett, co-owner of Cloak & Dagger Tattoo Studio in Dayton and of a Salon Lofts salon in the Town & Country shopping center in Kettering, and her husband, Britton Asbury, co-owner of the tattoo studio.
Cornett says on the food truck’s Facebook page that she has been a fan of bubble tea since high school, and wants to share the bubble-tea experience with others in the Dayton area.
The event takes place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m today at the Yellow Cab located on 700 E. Fourth St. in Dayton.
Billie Gold Bubble Tea will offer a variety of bubble-tea beverages, including a signature drink called the Rose Gold, described in a release as “a sweet and refreshing coconut milk tea” with rose, tapioca balls and cold-brew coffee from Press coffee shop in Dayton.
Treats from Cakes By Cookie will be available for purchase, including a pastry that is similar to a vegan Twinkies. Most Billie Gold items are vegan and gluten-free friendly, its founders said in a release.
