One local restaurant will be serving something very special as a side for customers who spend $25 or more this Tuesday — a roll of premium two-ply toilet paper.
The "TP Tuesday" promotion is the brain child of Village Family Restaurant owner Lacie Sims.
The Waynesville restaurant has become known for its creative promotions like free pie Monday, which gets customers a free slice of pie with any $8 purchase. It's not surprising that as they have to shift gears based on the Sate of Ohio's new rules that they would continue their creative streak.
"My restaurant is the oldest, continually operating restaurant in Waynesville. Our customers count on us, and in times like these, we all need to be able to count on each other. TP Tuesday is our lighthearted way to poke a little fun at this situation that we all find ourselves in while providing a practical way to say thank you to those who are helping our employees during what is increasingly becoming an incredible hardship," said Sims.
Starting today, the restaurants hours will be 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
Carryout is available all day with delivery beginning at 11 a.m. Delivery is free in a six mile radius for all orders over $40.
Sims says TP Tuesdays last, "until we are out of TP."
A full menu, including daily lunch and dinner specials, homemade soups and pies is available for carryout and pickup and is available online at VillageFamilyRestaurant.com.
Specials include catfish fillets ($10.50) and country fried steak ($8.25) on Mondays, an 8-ounce center cut pork chop ($11) on Tuesdays, deep-fried battered pollock ($10.95) and meatloaf ($9.95) on Wednesdays, BBQ pork ribs ($11.50 half rack, $14.95 whole rack) on Thursdays, Polish sausage and sauerkraut ($10.15) and fried clams ($7.99) on Fridays and spaghetti and meatballs ($10.25) on Saturdays.
