This pork tenderloin is like no other around -- here’s where to get it

Long ago in a town not so far away (Centerville, to be exact), there was a little butcher shop called Zinks Meats and it was good.

How good? Good enough that many people in the area would refuse to buy meat from their grocer of choice, instead choosing to make a separate trip to Zinks.

Thirty-seven years and a new location later, that little butcher shop has grown into Zinks Meats & Fine Wines. The business has expanded into a butcher, deli, restaurant and wine shop at its 409 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd. location.

Here they serve sandwiches, burgers and entrees of all kinds. However, it was the pork tenderloin that we were told to order by readers in the know.

Most places in the Dayton area serve the same hub cap-sized pork tenderloin. The sandwich you get at Sports Bar X is the same one you get at Restaurant Y and so on. Delicious though they may be, they don’t stand out.

Meanwhile, Zinks carves and seasons their pork tenderloins on site. The dish comes topped with coleslaw and sweet barbecue sauce, though you can get the slaw on the side if you prefer. The result is a fresh and mountainous tenderloin sandwich  that's not been sitting in the bottom of a deep freezer for three months.

Zinks serves the this sandwich as part of a daily platter that comes with chips and a drink.
