The iconic Shake Shack burger restaurant’s newest Ohio restaurant is just a short drive away.

Shake Shack opened its first Columbus "Shack" on Sunday, May 19, at the Easton Town Center. Before then, fans in Dayton have needed to travel to Cleveland or Lexington for the nearest Shake Shack meal.

If you’ve never had the Shake Shack experience, the first Shack opened in New York City in 2004 and has since collected a mass following of Shack fans who are willing to travel to get a bite of the juicy patties or crinkle-cut fries.

Customers are obsessed and have been known to stand in long lines for the gourmet burgers with its signature sauce described as spicy, sweet and sour at the same time. People also go nuts for the custard-based milkshakes.

The menu also offers chicken sandwiches, griddle flat-top hot dogs, frozen custard and special to the Columbus location, "the Easton Town Center Shack will also offer the Easton Bound, a vanilla custard with salted caramel sauce, Fox in the Snow pecan sticky buns and banana; as well as the Shack Attack, a chocolate custard with fudge sauce, chocolate truffle cookie dough, chocolate chunks and sprinkles; and Pie Oh My, a vanilla custard blended with pieces of Fox in the Snow seasonal pie," according to Columbus Underground Magazine.

A selection of national beer brands like Lager Heads and Kindred Brewing will be sold, as well as a small selection of wine.

Now, if only this would motivate the West Coast burger-shack superstar, In-N-Out Burger, to come East.

For now, Shake Shack will suffice.
