Local restaurants take home top prizes in Saturday’s Kickin’ Chicken Wing competition

Thousands of people showed up at Fraze Pavilion on Saturday queuing up in long lines wrapping around the grounds all in the name of chicken.

A dozen local restaurants and food trucks were on hand to feed steaming hot chicken wings to hungry attendees of this year's Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest.

Judges sampled every wing and awarded their favorites:

The People's Choice Award for "Best Damn Wing" was given once again to Nick's Restaurant in Xenia which has taken home this top prize since the event’s inception.

Giovanni's took home three major awards thanks to their its tasty creamy lemon-pepper wings and chocolate-chip waffle cone cannoli with fresh strawberry. Romer's won for its delicious turkey balls and their Aftershock sauce that made lips burn for hours afterwards.
