FLASHBACK: Alex Trebek says a little prayer after ‘Jeopardy!’ contestants bomb Dayton question 

Like many other TV shows that have suspended production due to the coronavirus, “Jeopardy” has been airing some reruns of past episodes.

That got us thinking back to a few years ago, when an episode of “Jeopardy!” demonstrated why there is an urgent need for a list of things people really ought to know about Dayton, Ohio.

The three contestants on the show that aired Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 got a seemingly easy answer related to the Wright Brothers: 

“Named for the famous brothers and a WWI-era pilot, Wright-Patterson AFB is just east of this Ohio aviation city.”

Contestant Brandey answered “Columbus.” 

Contestant Ryan answered “Akron.”

Come on now, folks. The answer is “Dayton.” 

The major FAIL on the $200 first-round question made Alex Trebek a praying man.
