Belmont Party Supply scores shout-out as ‘Best Bottle Shop in Ohio’

RateBeer.com recognizes Dayton store as state’s best, also proclaims Jungle Jim’s Fairfield as best grocery for beer

Belmont Party Supply has scored a shout-out from RateBeer.com, which has proclaimed the Dayton carryout as the “Best Bottle Shop in Ohio” to purchase beer.

Each year, the web site releases its “RateBeer Best Awards,” which focus mostly on breweries and beers, as rated by the web site’s users. But it also includes in its list the best brewpub, restaurant, tap room, bottle shop, grocery and bar, based on consumer ratings.

This year’s list, a portion of which was released Wednesday, recognized BPS as best bottle shop and Jungle Jim’s International Market in Fairfield as best grocery store in Ohio, and one of the four best in the country, for beer enthusiasts.

Belmont Party Supply’s founder, Mike Schwartz, is considered a godfather of sorts to the Dayton-area craft beer movement, and his store was the first in the area to carry an extensive selection of international and domestic craft beers.
