Business, housing focus for historic site in downtown Miamisburg

Miamisburg is agreeing on a deal to bring more downtown businesses and housing as part of a $1.4 million project officials say is the largest public/private redevelopment partnership for the city in more than 10 years.

Plans to restore historic Main Street buildings are part of the city’s agreement with two firms that local officials say would bring more than 12,000 square foot of retail and residential space to the heart of downtown.

NEW DETAILS: City seeks loan as bill to fix buckled road tops $1.5 million

The revitalization of the former Suttman’s Men’s and Boys’ Wear at 24-32 S. Main St. “will be one of the largest, single development projects that has ever taken place on Main Street,” city records show.

The city will provide $300,000 in financial assistance to the project spearheaded by Simplify Real Estate and Moda4 Design, records show.

Miamisburg City Council voted Tuesday night to allow the city to contract with those two firms for redevelopment of the Suttman building, which was built around 1900.
