JUST IN: Internet issues delay today’s opening of new restaurant in Miami Twp.

The planned opening of a new, larger location of a familiar restaurant chain has been pushed back.

The Miami Twp. location of Roosters – targeted for today – has been put on hold until later this month, a company official said. The site at 9400 Springboro Pike is now projected to open Jan. 21, said Danny Nader, Roosters area manager.

The Ohio restaurant chain/sports bar’s new site will employ about 150, about 55 more than the current site at 103 N. Springboro Pike just north of Ohio 725 in Miamisburg, Nader said.

It will feature about 68 televisions, including two 120-inch projection screens, Nader said. The current site has 45, he said.

He said issues with the site’s Internet and computer system caused a delay in the move from its Miamisburg site at 103 N. Springboro Pike just north of Ohio 725.

The new site - bought in 2017 after Caddy’s Tap house closed – is between the Dayton Mall and Austin Landing, across from LexisNexis. It features about 400 seats and nearly 8,400 square feet, about 25 percent more space, Nader said.

The chain that started in 1988 has about 30 locations in Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, according to its website.
