The test is available without a doctor’s order through CompuNet and costs $65. Payment is due via credit card at the time of the test. It cannot be billed to insurance companies because it is patient-ordered.
The test is the Abbot test and recently was authorized for emergency use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
It is performed on a person’s blood. If the IgG antibody for SARS-CoV2 is detected, it indicates that the person was previously infected by the virus that causes COVID-19.

Those wishing to be tested should visit www.compunetlab.com and click on Coronavirus/COVID-19. Under the patients section, you will be able to schedule an appointment and print out an order form to bring to the testing site.
Patients should also wear a mask if they have one.
Testing is available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 1801 Edwin C. Moses Blvd.
Antibody testing is not for someone who believes they currently have the virus. Anyone with symptoms of coronavirus should contact their doctor about being tested.

Test results will be available through CompuNet’s patient portal or by the mail within 10 days.
