K’s was a place where people celebrated new life, birthdays, weddings and everything in between. We can’t thank our customers enough for the support you have shown us.”
Those with gift cards can redeem the cards at The Sugar Shoppe Bakery at 209 Market St. in Brookville, which will “keep our pie recipes going,” the K’s Facebook page said. K’s Restaurant in Brookville is not to be confused with similarly named but separately owned and operated K’s Hamburger Shop in Troy.

The announcement triggered a wave of support and sorrow from former customers who commented on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
“So many great memories great food,” one commenter said. “Great talks... I will miss the lasagna... Chef salad... I love the French dressing. Who will make my lasagna? Donna I wish you all the best of luck, and your wonderful staff ... It always felt so good walking in the doors and everyone saying hi.”

The July 3 fire heavily damaged the kitchen and half the dining room of the family-style restaurant at 485 Arlington Road, which has been in the Brookville community for 40 years. Its most recent location was the former Brookville National Bank, which was purchased and converted into the restaurant in 2005.
