The Miami Valley has its first kosher vegetarian restaurant that specializes in Indian dishes.

Heavenly Divine Vegetarian Indian & Kosher Food is located at 9486 N. Springboro Pike (Ohio 741) in Miami Twp., which previously housed Persis Biryani Indian Grill. The space once held the first location of Boosalis Baking Co.

The restaurant, which seats 36 and is open every day for lunch and dinner, opened in late July.

“For a brief period of time, we were associated with another vegetarian restaurant at Cincinnati, which was kosher-certified as well, and we learned a great deal about it,” founders Priya and Napoleon Rajavelu told this news outlet. “When we decided to open Heavenly with a vegetarian concept, we decided to also make it kosher in order to invite more customers to enjoy our dishes.”

The couple also operates Heavenly Hot Breads, a bakery and pastry shop on Hamilton Avenue in Cincinnati.

“All our pastries, cookies and breads are eggless,” the restaurant’s founders said. “Vegan cakes and pastries are available at our locations. Heavenly restaurant menu has more than 50% vegan and gluten-free. Gluten-free naans are available on request.”

Heavenly Divine caters business lunches, seminars, conferences and other events, the Rajavelus said.
