Think it’s hot where you live? It probably did not top the scorching, record-setting temperatures in Arizona on Friday.

The National Weather Service said the thermometer in Phoenix climbed to 118 degrees, breaking the old mark of 115 for July 7 that was set in 1905, the Arizona Republic reported.

The normal high temperature for July 7 in Phoenix is 107 degrees, the Republic reported.

It was the twelfth time Phoenix has had a maximum high temperature of 118, according to the National Weather Service. Phoenix also has had six cases of 119 degrees as a record high.
