An Oregon District restaurant has a new patio to show off this summer.
Salar Restaurant and Lounge, 400 E. Fifth St., renovated its back patio space and opened for the season in April.
The new patio features a custom pergola, curtains, bohemian rugs, string lights, all new furniture and even miniature herb gardens.
“The winter months gave us the time to work on re-creating the outdoor space, and I can’t wait to share it with the Dayton community,” Salar owner and executive chef Margot Blondet said in a statement. “I brought a number of fresh, seasonal ingredients to the menu as well, and I wanted the new space to reflect that.”
Blondet, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Lima, Peru, opened Salar in 2013 at the former site of Sidebar.
The menu is inspired by Peruvian, French and Mediterranean cuisine.
Salar also has new spring wine and food menus.
The restaurant and its front patio reopened to the public Oct. 1.
Salar and a half-dozen other nearby businesses in the Oregon District received major smoke damage when fire broke out at the restaurant early Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.
