Praise to the burrito gods — the legendary Burrito Buggy food truck will officially be back in business in just a few weeks under new ownership.

Panic among fans of the Athens-based truck spread when owners of the Buggy announced it would be put up for sale earlier this year. In an earlier Dayton.com story about the possible closing, owners Marla Rutter and her husband, Jimmy Rutter, said interest had been strong since they announced the business was for sale.

Less than two months later, brothers Jim and Scott Stricklin will be partnering up with their friend, Eli Flournoy, to continue the Burrito Buggy tradition that has been going strong since 1984.

"The only thing that is going to change is the ownership," Jim Stricklin said in an article by The Post. "We all went to Ohio University and grew up in Athens and had fond memories of the Burrito Buggy. It's part of our college life. When we found out it was for sale, it made perfect sense to go ahead and do it. We closed the deal today."

Because the Buggy is an Athens staple, the new owners said they hope to keep the same fondness that people will continue to remember.

"We're ready to bring it back up so everyone can enjoy it," Jim Stricklin said to The Post.
