BEST OF DAYTON: The best places for a birthday celebration

When it comes to a memorable birthday celebration, Dayton has plenty of fun options.

We asked the people of Dayton to vote for their favorite place for a birthday party. These destinations, perfect for kids or maybe even grown-ups, were voted the top three best destinations in Dayton.com’s Best of 2018 contest, Best Place for a Birthday Party.

WINNER: Scene 75

Children are thrilled to ride in the Spin Zone, a new version of bumper cars that spins the passenger when cars collide, at Scene 75 in Vandalia. The entertainment center is in its second year of operations.

Scene75 is an entertainment mecca with more than 140 arcade games, an inflatable play area complete with a 36-foot-high slide, mini-bowling, laser tag, indoor go-karts, spinning bumper cars, virtual reality arcade and black light mini golf. A variety of birthday party packages are available with two, three or four attractions, arcade only or mini-bowling and include access to a private party room. Prices vary.

SECOND PLACE: Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

The Boonshoft is the perfect place to celebrate with the little ones. The museum includes an indoor mini-zoo complete with entertaining river otters, meerkats, a bobcat and more; space and astronomy exhibits and a space theater; an interactive color wall perfect for dancing; water tables; climbing tower and slide; tidal pool for interacting with sea critters; a treehouse perfect for bird-watching; pretend play stations and a play space just for children 4 and younger.

Enjoy the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery's interactive exhibits with group admission rates and two-hour private room rentals based on availability.

THIRD PLACE: Magic Castle

The Magic Castle features an arcade, kids soft play area, miniature golf course, batting cages and a water balloon launch game. Birthday party packages can be customized and include private room rental.
