Local sci-fi author gets coffee with ‘Harry Potter’ author J.K. Rowling in New York

John Scalzi, who lives in Bradford, is one of the most read sci-fi writers of the last few years. In May 2015, Scalzi signed a $3.4 million book deal for 13 novels, to be written and published over the next 10 years.

This morning, Scalzi found himself at the top of Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling’s Twitter page after the two got coffee in New York.

“Finally got to have coffee in NY with my Twitter buddy @scalzi. We’re already planning tea in London!” read Rowling’s post Wednesday morning.

Scalzi re-Tweeted Rowling’s Tweet and added, “What a lovely time this was!”

Could the two superstar authors have been talking up some magical collaboration? We can only hope.
