JUST IN: New, free parking spaces now open in Oregon District

It is now easier to park in the Oregon District without paying a cent.

The owners of the Trolley StopDublin Pub, and Corner Kitchen are using a $2,520 Oregon District Business Association parking grant to lease 126 parking spaces from

Greater Dayton Premier Management parking lot, said Carolyn DesJardin, ODBA's executive director.

“They made (the spaces) open for anyone who is coming to the Oregon District,”

Oregon District patrons can use the lot free of cost 5 p.m. to midnight Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday.

The lot at 400 Wayne Ave. just south of Dublin Pub is for Greater Dayton Premier’s use at all other times.

Entrances are on Wayne Avenue and Hugo Street.

Signage will be installed to help visitors more easily identify the parking lot.

The Oregon District Business Association created its parking grant program late last year with the goal of increasing the number of parking spaces available for general public use in the historic neighborhood, the 2018 best historic neighborhood in Dayton.com Best of Dayton contest.

The district has several paid lots and limited street parking. The Oregon District Garage, previously known as the Transportation Garage,  is located a short distance away.

Parking is $1 in the garage after 6 p.m.
