Sunny, warm today; Chance for severe storms tomorrow

Today will be partly sunny and warm, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms starting around noon, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Today will be mostly sunny with dry conditions. Scattered thunderstorms are possible along and south of the Interstate 71 corridor.

Temperatures will be hot, with highs in the upper 80s. Overnight temperatures will drop into the high 60s.

On Thursday, there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and first part of the night, rising in the afternoon before trailing off around midnight. Strong to severe storms are possible in the afternoon and evening, with damaging winds and large hail the primary threats. Tornadoes are a non-zero threat, according to NWS.

More clarity on the risk for severe weather will be available by Thursday morning.

High temperatures will be around 88 degrees, falling to a low around 66 degrees.

Friday will be mostly sunny during the day with a high around 80 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy night with a low around 61 degrees.
