Showers likely this morning, scattered rain, storms in afternoon

Today will be rainy to begin, with overnight showers and a chance of thunderstorms lingering until just after dawn, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Showers will be likely through mid-morning, then drop to a chance of rain until noon and a slight chance of rain for the rest of the day.

There will also be a slight chance of thunderstorms from late morning through about 4 p.m., and then again around dark before all precipitation chances drop off around 10 p.m. Otherwise, tonight will be cloudy but calmer.

Temperatures will be mild today and chilly tonight, with highs around 65 degrees and lows around 48 degrees.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with a chance of showers starting in the early afternoon and a chance of thunderstorms starting around 5 p.m.

The storm chances will drop away a few hours after dark, but there will still be a chance of rain throughout the night, the NWS said.

Saturday’s temperatures will be about the same, with a high around 68 degrees and a low around 47 degrees.

On Sunday, it will be partly cloudy, but still rainy and windy, with showers likely for most of the day and wind gusts as high as 30 mph in the afternoon.

On Sunday night the rain chances will drop, though not disappear, with a slight chance starting around nightfall rising to a chance of showers a few hours after midnight.

It will be a little cooler on Sunday, with highs around 60 degrees and lows around 40 degrees.
